Justin Guarini Readies for His 'Big Apple' Bite

NEW YORK -- Justin Guarini, first runner-up on the inaugural season of Fox TV's hit show American Idol,
has relocated to New York City to begin work on several new career projects including a major singing role
on an upcoming Broadway musical, Good Vibrations.Guarini, a newly-transplanted Manhattan dweller,
formerly of Los Angeles, is poised to help Good Vibrations, a new musical based on songs written and
performed by The Beach Boys, become a hit this fall.

The lavish production follows the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teenagers on a
life-changing odyssey to the young man's Promised Land: the beaches of Southern California. It will
be directed and choreographed by John Carrafa, choreographer of the Tony Award-winning Urinetown.

"I'm up for the challenge," Justin said, flashing his trademark smile that became a living room staple to more than 30 million viewers during the 10-week 2002 season of American Idol. "I'm really excited, New York is definitely where I need to be at this point in my career, and the opportunity to be on Broadway is once in a lifetime.

Guarini, whose self-titled album debuted in June 2003, has been composing new music and is in final discussions with a new record label about his next album, according to his new management team Westin Rinehart.

The teen heart-throb, best known for his curly locks, began his music career singing with the Boys Choir of Atlanta at age four. During his weekly performances on American Idol, Justin developed a strong fan base that still follows his career closely.

Since American Idol, Justin has co-starred with fellow Idol alum and winner Kelly Clarkson in a 2003 movie From Justin To Kelly; and has guest starred, hosted and or presented at numerous shows including Fox's North Shore, VH1's Top 25 Countdown, the Nickelodeon's 2003 Kids Choice Awards; Soul Train, Miss Teen USA, the Teen Choice Awards and Summer Music Mania 2003.
