A quarter-century of legal casino gaming has brought with it a quarter-century
of big-time (and not-so-big-time) entertainment to Atlantic City.
What follows is a look at some of the most memorable casino-sponsored, show
business events of the past 25 years:
March 2003: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band put an emphatic end to what
amounted to a career-long boycott of Atlantic City with a Boardwalk Hall
performance that some fans in attendance consider one of the act's greatest
shows of all time.
Among the highlights: "It's Hard to Be A Saint in the City,' "Jersey
Girl' and The Beatles' "Tell Me Why,' a tribute to the Fab Four's 1964 show
at the auditorium.
November 2002: The hottest ticket of the year turns out to be for the American
Idols concert at Trump Taj Mahal featuring singers from the show's first
competition, including winner Kelly Clarkson and runner-up Justin Guarini.
