Kelly, Kelly, Kelly! We knew you had the pipes. Now you've got the votes.
Bubbly Texan Kelly Clarkson, 20, of Burleson was crowned "American
Idol" last night at the end of a 2-hour string of commercials interrupted
by clips, performances and incessant banter.
Clarkson was tongue-tied and squeaky in victory; Justin Guarini was
gracious and charming in defeat.
"American Idol" has been the summer's biggest hit. Not since the first
"Survivor" has there been such a reality TV phenomenon.
Last Wednesday's episode was the No. 1 program for the week.
