Guests were treated to a backyard-style BBQ and poolside Speedo fashion show -- hosted by Good Day Live's Jillian Barberie -- before piling onto fluorescent pool floats to watch "swimfan" on a giant outdoor screen.
Pic's director, John Polson, said he was "very excited" at the thought of a dive-in preem: "I was hoping we would avoid the regular movie premiere and this is the perfect movie to launch in this way."
Walking the preem's pool-blue carpet were stars Erika Christensen and Shiri Appleby, as well as Jesse Bradford who, during the fashion show, said with a laugh that he would have considered suiting up for the crowd "if I was still in as good a shape as I was when I did the movie, but I'm not."
Studio also used the opportunity to promote Fox TV's remaining "American Idol" contestants -- Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, Tamyra Gray and Nikki McKibbin. They waded into the preem alongside execs Lachlan Murdoch, Jim Gianopulos, Bob Harper, Pam Levine, Jeffrey Godsick and Emma Watts; , producers John Penotti and Allison Lyon Segan; co-producer Marcy Drogin and guests Topher Grace, Paris Hilton, Jerry O'Connell, Leelee Sobieski, Naomi Watts and Olympic medalists Greg Louganis and Janet Evans.
