No 'Idol'-ing in traffic court

You know you're officially famous when your moving violations are considered news. Former "American Idol" contestant and Columbus native Justin Guarini was due in a court Wednesday in Northampton County, Pa., to answer a citation for following too closely in a March 12 traffic accident. Ultimately, Guarini, who's recording and rehearsing in Los Angeles for the upcoming "American Idol" CD compilation and tour, decided the ticket wasn't worth a trip from the left coast, his lawyer said. "Flying across the country is a little extreme for a traffic ticket," said attorney Douglas C. Roger Jr., who is also the singer's uncle. "He is extremely tied up." The offense carries a $25 fine and $75 in court costs.
